Taking a Taxi from the Airport

After getting into a taxi at the airport, simply show the driver your destination: Guangzhou International Campus, South China University of Technology (GZIC, SCUT) or 华南理工大学国际校区 (Chinese version, which may be more helpful to the driver).

The taxi fare is typically around RMB 120–180, depending on traffic conditions.

Tips: Mastercard and Visa cards may not be accepted everywhere. It is recommended to carry sufficient cash as a backup for small purchases, such as water, snacks, or meals. Carrying some small change, such as RMB 5/10/20 notes and RMB 1 coins, is highly recommended.

Public Transportation Routes

Enter the Campus via the South Gate

From Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport（广州白云机场）

Take Metro Line 3 (Northern Extension Segment), transfer to Line 3 at Tiyu Xilu（体育西）Station, then transfer to Line 8 at Kecun（客村）Station, and finally transfer to Line 4 at Wanshengwei（万胜围）Station to reach Xinzao（新造） Station. After exiting the metro, take Bus Route Fan 87（番87路） to the SCUT International Campus Bus Terminal.

Option 2: Metro + Bus

Estimated time: About 120 minutes

Cost: RMB 12 (RMB 10 for Metro fare + RMB 2 for Bus fare)

Details:

Follow the metro and bus route described above. The total journey takes about 2 hours, and the combined fare is approximately RMB 12.

Tips:

Carry some small change (e.g., RMB 5/10/20 notes and RMB 1 coins) for buying metro tickets and bus fares.

How to take the Metro?

At the departure station, buy a metro ticket by cash from the ticket vending machine. Carrying some small change is recommended.
Keep the ticket throughout your trip.
At the final station, insert the ticket into the exit gate. The ticket will be collected automatically.

How to take the Bus?

Board the bus through the front door, and then pay the fare by cash (Exact fare only).
Press the stop button before your stop, and exit through the rear door.

Enter the Campus via the North Gate

Nearest subway stations

The nearest subway stations near the north gate of the campus are Xinzao Metro Station Exit A, and Banqiao Metro Station Exit C or D (新造地铁站A口、板桥地铁站C口或D口).
